Dr. Shane Bot
Associate Dentist
Dr. Shane Bot graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BSc), major in Medical Biochemistry, from UBC’s Okanagan Campus in 2009. Dr. Bot then trained at UBC’s Nobel Biocare Oral Health Center in Vancouver, where he obtained his Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD), in 2014. He practiced first on Vancouver Island before moving to Ontario in 2016 to be closer to family. Dr. Bot is a standing member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Ontario Dental Association, and the Canadian Dental Association.
Dr. Bot is a dedicated advocate and practitioner of patient-centered care. His approach is one of quality communication, that puts emphasis on detailed and thorough explanation of all possible treatment options. He considers oral health to be an extremely important aspect of overall health and yet understands that dentistry can be a source of anxiety for many patients. Dr. Bot recognizes the importance of building a foundation of trust with his patients. He achieves this by getting to know his patient’s personal story and treating them with his calm, relaxed, and gentle demeanor.
Dr. Bot lives in Barrie with his wife and their 1-year old son Weston. He enjoys skiing, playing squash, travelling, and exploring the Simcoe-Muskoka Region.
